The 4th from my yard.
by BloggerInParadise on Jul.05, 2010, under Uncategorized
Some places you have to go to a specific area to view Independence Day fireworks. Here in SW Fl you can go to a number of displays, but if you’re having a party or BBQ and want to stay home – no problem. You and the neighbors can provide a spectacular display for all. These pictures were taken from my front yard. All the neighbors were having fun. These pictures were taken in all directions. The display went for hours. It’s like you’re in the middle of the fireworks display. Great fun. Had a great BBQ. Hope you all can make it down for the next 4th of July.

Where to Celebrate the 4th
by BloggerInParadise on Jun.29, 2010, under Uncategorized
Here in SW Florida we have a number of places to go and watch fireworks, parades, etc. Here’s a link to whats where.
There will, also, be an number of private displays. You can purchase your own fireworks at a number of stands that are open year round. Many people do and you can watch and fire off fireworks from your home. I think that technically you’re supposed to be ridding yourself of varmints like gophers as you have to sign a piece of paper saying something to that effect. I’ve fired off fireworks every year and never had a mole or gopher on my property until this past year. Last 4th I didn’t use fireworks and had moles show up in my lawn! I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen this year. Happy Independence Day to all!
Cactus in the Morning
by BloggerInParadise on Jun.13, 2010, under Uncategorized
I woke up this morning to find that our cactus had decided to bloom.
This plant started about two years
ago from a 1 foot tall cutting. Now it’s about 10 feet high with multiple trunks. Things grow fast here in Florida. Hard to believe the size of the blooms. They only last a day or two, but they are spectacular. Take a look at the close up and you’ll see some very happy bees.
